The recruitment to the Children and Youth Academy is in progress

The City of Zabrze and the University of Technology have announced recruitment to the Children and Youth Academy. The project is co-funded from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014–2021, and the attendance at all the activities is free of charge for the participants. The activities will start this September.

The Children and Youth Academy invites the children to attend interesting activities when they will have an opportunity to feel as if they were real university students. The activities are to be conducted by university teachers. They will introduce the attendees in the world of science and arts, improve language competence in an attractive form, without scholastic coercion, while the youth will be offered assistance at preparing for the secondary school leaving examination.

The project will include activities for various age groups:

– for the children 7-10 and 11-14 years old some artistic, computer as robotics /, and English activities have been prepared – each module will last 20 hours.

– for 15–17 year-old youth some English, Polish, mathematics and biological-technological activities have been prepared – each module will last 30 hours.

The activities will take place on Saturdays in the building of a WST [University of Technology] Faculty in Zabrze, the address: ul. Park Hutniczy 3-5. Every 7-17 year-old child/youth, resident in Zabrze and attending school in our city may participate in the project.

During the winter holiday the participants of the Children and Youth Academy will go to a free-of-charge winter camp.
