The Mayor of Zabrze and Zabrze City Hall are the winners of the Polish Smart Development Award 2023

Zabrze presented itself during the 8^th Smart Development Forum, which took place in Uniejów from 19^th to 20^th October. The Forum is a congress of projects of the future, which since 2016 has been created by people and organizations introducing better solutions in their field, based on knowledge, creative thinking and innovation. The idea of the event is to promote the art of innovation that improves the quality of life.

This year’s edition of the Forum gathered over 450 representatives of the world of science, industry and business, as well as local government administration – representatives of innovative companies, directors, R&D managers, managers and leaders of innovative projects, scientists conducting research projects, local government officials developing their regions, representatives of local government administration, government administration and organizations focused on intelligent development based on knowledge and innovations. They participated in dozens of industry meetings and conferences, power speeches and accompanying networking events, organized under the motto „Cooperation for development – facing the challenges of tomorrow!”.

During the gala summarizing the Forum, the Mayor of Zabrze, Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, was awarded in the Woman of the Future category of the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2023. She was honoured, among others, for actively setting new trends in the city’s development, project management and vision improving the standard of living of residents. In turn, Zabrze City Hall was awarded in the Resident- and Investor-Friendly Local Government category. This distinction was awarded for the implementation of the project titled: „City as a Space Maker”.
