The Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki visited Zabrze

The Prime Minister, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki visited Zabrze today. The meeting held in the historical room of Zabrze City Hall concerned granting co-funding from the Norwegian Funds amounting to PLN 15 million.

The meeting with the Prime Minister was attended, without limitation, by: Waldemar Buda, the Secretary of State of Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, Jarosław Wieczorek, the Provincial Governor of Silesia, Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, the President of Zabrze and Mayors and Presidents (respectively) of: Cieszyn, Rydułtowy, Zawiercie and Żywiec.

Mateusz Morawiecki the Prime Minister gave a symbolic cheque to President Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik for more than EUR 3,5 million. These are funds that the city will, without limitation, assign for the modernisation of the Metallurgical Park. The program of actions was subjected to social consultations, particularly with the youth, seniors and entrepreneurs of Zabrze.

It is worth mentioning that more than 212 cities and towns competed for the Norwegian Funds. Upon a thorough verification, 29 best applications have been accepted. The project takes into the consideration a number of actions indicated by the inhabitants in the following fields: environment, society, entrepreneurship, space and its accessibility for various population groups.

In terms of Zabrze development potentials, the quality of urban space is of vital importance to the quality of its population life as well as its attractiveness for tourists and investors, The public space undoubtedly has some important cultural, recreational, tourist, economic and social functions, therefore, this is one of the fields the co-funding grants have been designated for.

Furthermore the directions recognized as particularly significant and pro-developmental are related to education and consistent building of City specialisations as well as local entrepreneurship constituting the economic support of the city development dimension.
