New investment projects out of Norwegian grants

The project “City as Space for development” funded from the “Local Development” program co-funded from the grants of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 includes regular works and consultations. In the historical room of Zabrze City Hall an online meeting was held with the Norwegian Union of Local and Regional Governments (KS), the representatives of Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and the representatives of the City of Zabrze in order to start a closer collaboration.

The said project will include, without limitation: two brine graduation skatepark. The main target of the meeting today was to find a city in Norway interested in city-twinning with Zabrze to exchange good practices within the subject scope of this project.

The main targets of the project „Zabrze – the city as space for development” include, without limitation, the improvement of the life quality in the city through better economic and social potential of the city, the natural environment quality and the urban spaces standard, the improvement of cohesion of activities and growth of the population trust to the public institutions, creating standards of modern public service provision and improvement of the institutional capacities of the city administration.

In addition to the tangible effects of the project performance, the intangible ones will also be noticeable, including, without limitation: the intensification of the city development through expansion of the city specialisations, consolidated integration of the population, extending their eco awareness, making the urban space more attractive and at the same time the increased number of initiatives for active pastimes in the “new” urban space. The basic actions of the project in this scope are to initiate the process of economic-social-environmental tasks in the city.

The project will be performed until the 30th April, 2024.

The maximum total qualifiable costs covered by the project amount to: PLN 15 328 498,86.

Co-funding: EUR  3 371 346,00.
