The 12th International Tourist Fair – coming up in Zabrze tomorrow!

This exceptional event will take place on the 8th and 9th April in „Pogoń” Sports Hall in Zabrze. Croatia is the Fair partner this year and it will present its tourist and cultural offer. The visitors will be able to taste some Croatian specialties, watch artistic performances showing Croatian culture. The representatives of institutions and industrial heritage objects, museums as well as cities and regions, including without limitation from Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia have already confirmed their participation in the fair. The visitors will be offered numerous attractions, workshops, shows and tasting events, just like every year.

Among the exhibitors who have already confirmed their participation in the twelfth edition of the International Tourist Fair in Zabrze, we can find, without limitation, the following: Orava Castle, Orava Forest Railway, Nový Jičín, The Live Obwarzanek Museum from Cracow, Zinc Smelting Museum – The Rolling Mill in Katowice, The Gas Industry Museum in Paczków, The Military Technology Park in Zabrze, the Vintage Bicycles – Zabrze, the Maciej Shaft, The Silesian Uprisings Museum or Ignacy Łukasiewicz Memorial Museum of Petroleum and Gas Industry in Bóbrka.

During the Fair the Zabrze Division of Polish Red Cross carried out a fundraiser for Ukraine. Every visitor to „Pogoń” Hall may also express their solidarity with Ukrainian nation writing words of support on the special board set there for this purpose.

The 12th International Tourist Fair in Zabrze is accompanied by the 7th International Conference of Industrial Heritage Tourism (7th -8th April) organised by the City of Zabrze since 2004.

This year the Conference focuses on the mission statement of the project performed as part of the Norwegian funds: “Zabrze – The City as Space for Development”. The conference includes the analysis of the urban space with industrial structures, most of all the historical ones revitalised and adapted for public, commercial, cultural use (such as art galleries, concert halls, theatres) and tourist attractions as they are, adapted for sight-seeing because of their historical, social and cultural values.

The conference is organised as part of Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and is part of the project “City as Space for Development”. The project worth
EUR 3 521 346,00 (85 per cent out of Norwegian grants, 15 per cent from the State budget), has been performed since the 1st January, 2022 and will last until the 30th April, 2024.
