Park Hutniczy [The Metallurgical Park] will get a new image!
At the historical room of Zabrze City Hall the contract for the project was signed today, its title is: Building open and accessible urban spaces in Park Hutniczy [The Metallurgical Park] in Zabrze, as part of the project “City as Space for Development”. The total value of the investment is PLN 8 870 477,38. The task will be performer within up to 6 months from signing the contract.
It is worth mentioning that out of almost 2500 Polish municipalities Zabrze was in the circle of 29 territorial government units that successfully obtained financing from the Norwegian funds. This is ca. PLN 15 million, thanks to which numerous projects shall be performed in Zabrze – both soft, including day camps for children, workshops for parents and guardians, or city games for entire families, and hard – including the brine graduation towers, water playground, liquidation of architectural barriers in the Registry Office building, or revitalization of the Metallurgical Park.
Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik – the President of Zabrze, Mariusz Dawidowski – the owner „PLAST-BUD” the refurbishing and building firm (the Contractor), Michał Bujara (the Site Manager), Mirosław Barcik the Milestone I Designer from FERO+ENSO and others attended the meeting at which the contract for the revitalization of the Metallurgical Park in Zabrze was signed.
– The Metallurgical Park is another place to bring back old glory to – commented Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, the President of Zabrze. – Thanks to the talks to the inhabitants I know how important and desired are the investments in the recreational infrastructure and landscaping. Therefore, as part of the prepared design of the park modernization we will perform: a playground and a water playground, a volley-ball court, an outdoor gym, grill site and a skatepark. Moreover, for our pets, we are going to prepare a dog walking space. The „Neptune Spring” in the northern part of the park will also be refurbished. The task will be made with the use of the Norwegian funds that we have obtained.
The scope of works:
- Building of the recreational and playing facilities: water playground, skatepark, children’s playground, outdoor gym, dog walking space and furnishing them with recreational-playing facilities and paving;
- Erection of the sanitary-social building with infrastructure;
- Assembly of landscaping facilities: pergolas, benches, seats, deckchairs, dustbins, segregation bins, birdhouses and insect nests, information boards, bike racks, grill sites (tables, benches, concrete grills);
- Disassembly of the existing paving and asphalt and concrete elements;
- Construction of new paths, squares and paving;
- Assembly of the park illumination grid;
- Assembly of internal systems conducted outdoors: water, power, sewage, technological for the water playground;
- Assembly of the internal systems inside the building: water-sewage, central heating (heating pump), electricity and low current (PV, monitoring, heating pump and pool technology power supply) mechanical ventilation;
- Construction of the water and sewage network to serve the recreational facilities;
- Reconstruction of the water network, including disassembly of its fragment colliding with the designed water playground;
- Construction of replica of the Neptune spring, including the necessary connections;
- Cleaning the landscaping of rubbish, roots, broken branches, grubbing colliding self-seedings (not requiring permit for cutting) and stumps;
- Planting trees, bushes, accompanying plants and seeding grass;
- Completion of the existing concrete fencing and assembly of two wickets;
- The contractor: „PLAST-BUD” Refurbishing and Construction Firm, Mariusz Dawidowski – selected in a public tender.
The investment task is co-funded from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 – the Project „City as Space for Development”.
