Another meeting concerning the Norwegian funds has been held
As part of the project „The City as Space for Development” funded from the “Local Development” program and co-funded from the Norwegian Finacial Mechanism 2014-2021, regular works and consultations are in progress. The City Office in Zabrze hosted a meeting of the Coordination Team for the project “The City as Space for Development” co-funded from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
During the meeting the most significant information on the performance of the project in our city was presented. Thanks to the Norwegian funds, two brine graduation towers, water playground in the Metallurgical Park and a skatepark will be built among others in Zabrze.
Among the major targets of the project, it is worthwhile to mention, without limitation, the improvement of life quality in the city through a better economic and social potential thereof, environment quality and urban space quality, improvement of the cohesion of actions and growth of the inhabitants trust to public institutions, creating standards of modern public service provision and improvement of the institutional capacities of the city administration.
In addition to the material effects of the project performance, also the intangible effects will be noticeable, including, without limitation, the intensification of the city development through the growth of urban specializations, consolidation of the population integration; more attractive urban space and at the same time more initiatives for active pastimes in the “new” urban space. The fundamental activities of the project related thereto should initiate the process of economic, social and environmental changes in the city.
The project will be performed until 30th April,2024.
The total maximum qualifiable costs within the project amount to PLN 15 328 498,86.
Co-funding: EUR 3 371 346,00.
