“The Summer in Zabrze” educational-vocational day camp has started

The first term of “The Summer in Zabrze” educational-vocational day camp organised by the City of Zabrze has started today. The children participating in the activities will play, go on sight-seeing tours around Zabrze and learn about the specific nature of various professions. The project forms part of „The City as Space for Development” task funded out of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for the years 2014-2021.

The day camp coordinated by the Family Development Centre is an example of an option that we do not have to be bored even when we stay in the city during the summer vacation. The children who participated in it will certainly spend their time in an attractive and active way. The program included without limitation tours to attractive places, becoming familiar with professions on site and in the conditions approximate to their daily performance and learning entrepreneurship.

Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, the City President greeted the children participating in the day camp. During the day camp the junior participants will earn money while becoming familiar with a selected profession. With the money earned they will be able to buy selected goods in the camp shop. They will also be able to save the money earned and buy a more valuable item from the camp shop at the end of the day camp term. They will also participate in sport and physical activities, games and integration entertainment as well as walks and outdoor activities.

The second term will start soon, i.e. next Monday, the 1st August.
